Roulette is a well-known and easy-to-play game. To play it, you use a roulette wheel that has 37 or 38 numbers and colored slots.
Every new player should start with the two most popular types of roulette:
American or double zero roulette that consists of numbers from 1 to 36 (red or black), 0 and 00 (green).
European or French roulette that consists of numbers from 1 to 36 (red or black) and 0 (green);
The principle of the game is easy to understand but hard to predict. A dealer throws a small ball into a spinning roulette wheel. Players should place their bets on the number where they assume the ball should land. It’s possible to place a bet on an individual number or certain groups of numbers.
Keep in mind that numbers are not in ascending or descending order. They’re placed randomly and depend on which type of roulette you’re playing. It’s also possible to place a bet even when the wheel is rotating. However, you can’t do this when the dealer says “No more bets!”.
You have inside and outside bets, which are also divided into several subcategories. Down below you can see how they’re called and how many numbers they cover:
Inside bets consist of straight up (1), split (2), street (3), six line (6), corner (4), trio (3), basket (4), top line (5);
Outside bets consist of red/black (18), even/odd (18), high/low (18), dozen (12), column (12), snake bet (12).
When you go to a casino to play roulette, you surely wonder how much you can win there. That’s why both new and experienced players should know the following statistics. In the table below, you’ll see the size of your potential payout and the probability of winning it.
